Serial killers, who? What and why?
Killing a human being is a grave crime, But committing multiple murders takes it to another level; who is responsible? Serial killer gene?
What exactly is a serial killer?
They are humans with disrupted mentality who like to kill people for no reason at all cause that is what gives their mind peace; at least, that’s what they think. But the truth is the more lives they take, the more they become blood lusted.
Serial killers sometimes kill for revenge, they take out their anger or pain by taking someone’s life, and then the guilt keeps hitting them until they either kill or are caught. Some killers used chainsaws to kill people. How terrifying. The ratio of serial killers in the western side is far less than 1% of the total population but even thinking about them gives a strong man a shivery feeling down his spine.
What makes a person a killer?
The question that comes here is that if either a person is born a killer or becomes one as a result of certain events happening throughout his life. History shows that mostly what urges someone to be a killer is childhood abuse, no matter what type it is, like sexual abuse or physical or mental abuse, or the loss of someone close gives birth to the feeling of revenge.
For example, Richard Ramirez, known as the Night Stalker, experienced a difficult childhood with regular beatings from his father. However, some individuals who grow up in healthy, peaceful environments also become deadly serial killers. Some attribute this to a “serial killer gene,” recently introduced in the CW’s Riverdale show. In the front, the antagonist Betty Riverdale is told by her mother that she is destined to become a murderer because she possesses the serial killer gene.
Serial killer gene, whose fault is it??
Abdemalek Buyout was a serial killer in Italy. In 2010, his lawyers successfully argued that he was mentally disturbed, and his life imprisonment sentence was reduced to just nine years.
But his lawyers weren’t done. They claimed that Buyout was genetically predisposed to being a criminal. After testing him, they proved he carried a gene known as the serial killer gene. This gene is a term given to the insufficient number of MAO-A genes.
Studies have shown that this gene can cause social awkwardness and over-irritation. In men, high levels of hormones can lead to highly aggressive behavior. But the link between genetics and criminal behavior is not so simple. Most people with this gene do not become serial killers.
It’s also important to note that many serial killers have experienced childhood abuse and trauma, possibly contributing to their violent tendencies. We should treat people with kindness and empathy, especially if they exhibit troubling behavior. We can’t blame genetics alone for someone’s actions.
Serial killer gene, in terms of biology
The MAO-A enzyme breaks down neurotransmitters like dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin. When there is not enough MAO-A in the body, it can affect men and women differently.
For men, low levels of MAO-A can lead to social awkwardness and irritability, but in extreme cases, high levels of hormones can cause aggressive behavior. However, it is essential to note that having a rough personality does not automatically make someone a criminal.
On the other hand, women with low levels of MAO-A tend to be less abusive than those with high grades. When there is not enough MAO-A, it can lead to an excess of neurotransmitters in the body. This overabundance of “feel-good” chemicals can be harmful, as too much of a good thing can harm our health.
Effects of MAO-A enzyme
The serial killer gene typically causes social awkwardness and over-irritation. Still, in severe cases, it can result in highly aggressive behavior in affected men due to the higher levels of hormones. Interestingly, women with lower levels of MAO-A were found to be less abusive than those with high MAO-A levels. However, having corrupted genetics does not necessarily mean someone will become a serial killer.
Your Destiny is to kill people!!??
As a ten-year-old child, if your parents tell you you have the serial killer gene and will become a killer, it would sound absurd. Research has shown that people with defective MAO-A genes, also known as the serial killer gene, often go through traumatic experiences and exhibit abusive behavior, such as being unable to make friends due to anger issues or being victims of severe abuse during childhood.
The serial killer Genesis also killed the warrior gene because it makes it easier for a person to get angry. Get into a fight. People who find it in their genes can use it positively, like mastering martial arts or joining the armed forces. It is unnecessary for someone being a bit aggressive to turn into a killer, as we mostly assume.
Conclusion
Research shows that people are not born serial killers. Instead, a person’s upbringing and experiences may lead to the development of such tendencies. Genetic abnormalities that result in aggression may also play a role, referred to as “serial killer genes,” due to their link to violent behavior. However, having a complicated past or personality does not necessarily mean someone will become a killer.
Sometimes, a person’s obsession can lead to their demise and cause distress to others. Everyone is responsible for treating others with kindness and positivity, especially those struggling internally. Harsh treatment towards such individuals can trigger negative feelings and potentially lead to criminal behavior. Therefore, it is crucial to treat others with the respect and compassion they deserve.
